NIFFT has five main teaching departments Foundry Technology, Forge Technology, Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Metallurgical  Engineering and Department of Applied Science and Humanities (DASH). The institute is equipped with various laboratories such as Rapid prot.  NIFFT is registered as Society under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. The management of the Institute is vested with Board of Governors with Chairman at its apex and members representing Govt. of India (Ministry of HRD & industry), AICTE, Private and Public enterprises, technical and R & D organizations. During the last four decades NIFFT has earned a reputation as a leading institute for teaching, training, research & development, Consultancy and documentation and information retrieval services in metal casting and metal forming technology. With the globalization of the market, competitiveness in industries has increased tremendously.

Applied Science and Humanities M. Sc. OR Integrated M. Sc. (Mathematics) with 60% or 6.75 CGPA and Ph. D in preferred area of specialization

Foundry Technology B.E./B.Tech./B.S. and M.E./M.Tech/M.S Both degrees in Metallurgy/ Metallurgical and Materials Engineering / Materials Science and Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Production and Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Foundry and Forge Technology with 60% or 6.75 CGPA Ph.D. in preferred area of specialization is desirable

Materials and Metallurgical Engineering B.E./B.Tech./B.S. and M.E./M.Tech/M.S Both degrees in Metallurgical Engineering / Materials and Metallurgical Engineering with 60% or 6.75 CGPA Ph.D. in preferred area of specialization is desirable

Mathematics M.Sc. in Mathematics/ Statistics OR M. Stat. with 60% or 6.75 CGPA and Ph. D in preferred area of specialization along with formal course work in Statistics and Probability

Electronics & Computer Engineering B.E./B.Tech./B.S. and M.E./M.Tech/M.S Both degrees in Computer Science and Engineering / Electronics and Communications Engineering / Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering with 60% or 6.75 CGPA Ph.D. in preferred area of specialization is desirable
