Army Public School in Kanpur was accorded by Army HQ vide their letter No M/42044/AWES/27/CW-4 (a) dt 08 Jan 92. The school started functioning wef 06 Jul 1992. The school was functioning in the MES re-appropriated TRS huts Nos H-20 to H-25, HC-4 & HC-5 and H-13 & H-14 on temporary basis since 30 Jun 2016. Provision of new school building under MWP at Kanpur was sanctioned on 31 Mar 2011 .The school campus is spread over in vast area of 14 acres. The construction work was completed in Mar 2016 and school shifted to new building during summer vacation 2016. The new School building of APS, Kanpur was inaugurated by Lt Gen Shokin Chouhan, YSM, SM, VSM, GOC Strike 1 on 28 Jun 2016. The school from class VI to XII is functioning from its new building whereas, Classes of I & V are being run at its old location.
