The Govt. of India conferred on the Institute, the Deemed to be University status (under University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956)) with effect from 26th June 2002. Subsequently, the Central Govt. by Act of Parliament (National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007 (29 of 2007)) declared VNIT Nagpur as an Institute of National Importance along with all other NITs. The Act was brought into force from 15th August 2007.

Masters Degree with BE/B.Tech in First Class or equivalent grade at both levels in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology.

Consolidated remuneration (without any allowances):
M.E. / M.Tech / M. Phil Rs 55,000 per month
Ph.D. Rs 60,000 per month

Candidates reporting after 10.00 AM shall not be considered for the selection process. Candidate should bring the filled in form with them in prescribed format, (which can be downloaded from the institute website www.vnit.ac.in with passport size photo affixed on it), Biodata, relevant original certificates & one set of self attested copies of these certificates alongwith Id proof. Even though these are temporary position, VNIT will make all the efforts to fulfill reservation norms as per the GoI policy.
