Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi’s main campus has been developed as an Eco-friendly and sustainable infrastructure campus. The total area of IIT Mandi is 538 acres of which about 200 acres is flat land while the rest is mountainous. On 23rd September 2012, 108 B.Tech 2nd year students, the Director, few research scholars, 20 faculty and staff with their families shifted to the main campus. Currently, all of the undergraduate students, the Director and 95% of the faculty members reside in the main campus. IIT Mandi is now home to a buzzing community of students, academicians and staff..The main campus of IIT Mandi is in Kamand valley. The village is located in Mandi Tehsil of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh. The village is on the banks of Uhl- a tributary of the river Beas. Kamand is approximately 14 kms from Mandi town. There is great variation in the climatic conditions of Himachal due to extreme variation in elevation. The climate varies from hot and sub-humid tropical in the southern tracts to cold, alpine and glacial in the northern and eastern mountain ranges with more elevation.

The School of Computing and Electrical Engineering (SCEE) at the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) invites applications for full-time regular faculty positions (Assistant Professor) in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Electrical Engineering (EE). The SCEE at IIT Mandi encompasses the disciplines of CSE and EE. As part of an initiative in CSE and EE, IIT Mandi plans to add new faculties to the SCEE. The School offers various B.Tech., M.Tech., M.Tech. by research and Ph.D. programs and encourages
interdisciplinary research. The SCEE encompasses the disciplines of Computer Science and Electrical
Engineering. The faculty members of the school actively research and teach in the areas of, but not limited
to, theoretical computer science, systems engineering, intelligent systems, quantum computing & quantum
communications, intelligent communication for next generation systems, optical communication, photonics,
communication and computer networks, control and automation, IoT, bio-medical systems,
microelectronics, VLSI design and fabrication, power systems, power electronics, electrical machines and
drives.
