Mahatma Gandhi University envisaged the prospects of an Inter University Centre for Biomedical Research and Super Speciality Hospital (IUCBR & SSH) as an institution of importance and relevance to Kerala State with the object to develop high-end teaching and training in post graduate medical education in all branches of healthcare specifically pertinent to the region. The University has identified its campus at Thalappady, Kottayam as the ideal location for IUCBR & SSH, and the first phase of the construction is completed. Mahatma Gandhi University,one of the major Universities in Kerala, is a premier educational institution that strives to fulfill the higher educational needs of the people from Central Kerala. Set on the sprawling 110-acre Priyadarsini Hills Campus at Athirampuzha, 12 kms off Kottayam, the University also has two satellite campuses in Kottayam . The University was established on 2nd October 1983 and has jurisdiction over the revenue districts of Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and parts of Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha. The Institution offers a large number of programmes at the Undergraduate, Postgraduate, M Phil and Doctoral levels through its 17 University Departments, 1 International and Inter University Centre, 7 Inter University Centres, 10 Inter School Centres, 77 Govt./Aided Affiliated Colleges, 10 Autonomous Colleges (of which 8 are Colleges with a Potential for Excellence), 200 Unaided Affiliated Colleges and 199 Recognized Research Centres.

Applications are invited for the selection of Assistant Professor on Contract for the following Departments/ Schools of the University for the academic year 2024-2025. The engagement of Assistant Professor on Contract faculties will be purely on contract basis for one academic year and likely to be extended for another 2 years based on the annual performance appraisal report. The vacancies arose due to the No Candidate Available/ Not Joining for Duty/ Turn Passed Over categories in the previous years and the fresh vacancies in continuation with the rotation roaster in University for different Department/ Schools. Reservation rotation is specified in serial order against the vacancies of each School/ Departments. In the absence of reserved category , other reserved category or open competition category candidates will be considered. All category candidates can submit applications for these post

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
Qualification: As per UGC norms
🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE ₹
Consolidated pay of ₹ 40,000 /- per month for UGC qualified candidates. In the absence of UGC qualified hands, non UGC candidates will be considered with a remuneration of ₹1600/- per day subject to a maximum of ₹40,000/- per month
