NIT Manipur, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, invites applications on a rolling basis from eminent academics and industry professionals for engagement as Visiting Faculty, Adjunct Faculty, and Professor of Practice across Engineering, Sciences, Management, and Humanities. Applications are scrutinized quarterly each year.

🎓 ELIGIBILITY / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Qualification: Ph.D. / Postgraduate / Graduate in the relevant field. Degree from a Centrally Funded Institution (CFI) under MoE is required.
• Experience (any of the following, indicative): 10/12/15 years post-qualification experience; or at least 3 years in very senior roles (GM/Director/Tech Head/R&D Head/Project Head) in top organizations / Top-100 corporates / ISRO / DRDO / National Research Labs (Scientist ‘F’ or above).
• Desirable Exposure: Product design & development, R&D/Patents/Tech transfer; UG/PG teaching in CFIs; guiding student projects/internships; collaboration with funding agencies/industry; publications in SCI/WoS; start-up/entrepreneurial experience.
• Upper Age Limit: 70 years.
• General: Engagement governed by MoE guidelines; exceptional candidates with significant contributions may be considered even if not meeting all criteria.

🏆 TENURE & REMUNERATION ₹

Tenure (all categories): Typically up to 2 years. Initial appointment for 1 year, renewable for one more year based on performance/progress.

• Professor of Practice
  • Professor of Practice: ₹1.20 lakh/month + ₹20,000 monthly academic allowance (reimbursable)
  • Associate Professor of Practice: ₹1.00 lakh/month + ₹15,000 monthly academic allowance
  • Assistant Professor of Practice: ₹0.80 lakh/month + ₹10,000 monthly allowance
• Adjunct / Visiting Faculty
  • Honorarium: ₹5,000 per teaching hour (max 5 hours/day), up to 3 trips/semester; total monthly emoluments capped at ₹1.20 lakh
  • Monthly academic allowance (reimbursable): Professor – ₹20,000; Associate Professor – ₹15,000; Assistant Professor – ₹10,000
