🎯 SCHOOL / DEPARTMENT & AREAS
- School of Artificial Intelligence & Data Engineering (sAIDE): AI, Machine Learning, Data Science and allied areas. Preference for strong records in AI/ML (A*/A conferences, high-impact journals, patents, interdisciplinary AI applications).
- Department of Biomedical Engineering: Biomechanics (fluid/soft/hard tissue), Medical Devices (electrical/electronic, imaging systems, implants), Bioinformatics / Computational Bioengineering; ability to drive multidisciplinary research and clinical/industry collaborations.
🎓 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Qualification (all posts): Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch and a very good academic record.
- Assistant Professor Grade–I: Minimum 3 years post-Ph.D. teaching/research/professional experience; strong publications.
- Assistant Professor Grade–II: For candidates meeting all criteria except the post-Ph.D. experience; placed at Academic Level 10/11 based on experience and moved to Grade-I on meeting requirements.
- Associate Professor: Minimum 6 years’ experience (with at least 3 years as Assistant Professor at IITs/IISc/IIMs/IISERs/NITIE or equivalent); strong research leadership, Ph.D. guidance, publications/patents/technology transfer.
- Professor: Minimum 10 years’ experience (with 4 years as Associate Professor at IITs/IISc/IIMs/IISERs/NITIE or equivalent); demonstrated leadership in research, Ph.D. supervision, lab/course development, significant scholarly output.
- Who can apply: Indian Nationals; PIO/OCI (subject to GoI clearance); other Foreign Nationals (contract up to 5 years, subject to GoI permissions).
- Reservations: As per Government of India norms.
🏆 PAY SCALE / 7th CPC LEVELS ₹
- Assistant Professor Grade–I: Academic Level 12 (₹1,01,500–1,67,400); on completion of 3 years, movement to Level 13A1 (₹1,31,400–2,04,700) based on performance.
- Assistant Professor Grade–II: Entry at Level 10 (₹57,700–98,200; basic ₹70,900) → Level 11 after 1–2 years post-Ph.D. experience (basic ₹84,800 / ₹87,300) → movement to Grade–I upon meeting experience and performance criteria.
- Associate Professor: Academic Level 13A2 (₹1,39,600–2,11,300).
- Professor: Academic Level 14A (₹1,59,100–2,20,200).
