The Indian Institute of Information Technology Raichur (IIIT Raichur) was established by the Government of India in the PPP model in 2019. Since January 2021, the institute has been functioning in Raichur at the Government Engineering College. The permanent campus is nearing completion, with the next academic year set to commence there. IIIT Raichur offers B.Tech, B.Tech (Hons.) programs in Computer Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, and Mathematics and Computing, with plans to expand offerings in other branches of national relevance as per NEP. The institute also offers a Ph.D. program in Mathematics, Computer Science, and related areas.

Candidates should have an aptitude for sharing knowledge and have earned their Ph.D. from reputed universities, followed by research guidance, formulation of research proposals, secured/filed patents/IPR/Knowledge/Database, and acquisition of funding.
