🎯 PROJECT DETAILS

  • Project Title: “A Novel Machine Learning-Driven Real-Time Flash Flood Forecasting Framework Using 3D Storm Bias-Corrected and Downscaled Satellite-Based Precipitation Estimates”.
  • Principal Investigator- Prof. Shushobhit Chaudhary, Civil Engineering Department, IIT (ISM), Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India. Email: shushobhit@iitism.ac.in
  • Tenure of Project- The position is temporary and will last for three years or until the project ends. The selected candidate may be considered for Ph.D. enrolment, subject to fulfilling the admission criteria of IIT (ISM), Dhanbad.  

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Qualifications & experience as prescribed by norms include:

  • MTech. in Water Resources Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Hydrology, Environment Engineering, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing & GIS, Civil Engineering, Earth Sciences, or equivalent specializations.
  • GATE/NET qualification is mandatory.
  • B.Tech. in Civil Engineering or Agricultural Engineering & Technology.
  • Candidates awaiting their MTech. degree results are eligible to apply.
  • Desirable: Exposure to hydrological modelling, large-scale climate and remote sensing datasets, proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or R.

🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE

The fellowship is ₹37,000 per month plus 20% HRA for the first two years and ₹42,000 per month plus 20% HRA for the third year. HRA is admissible in lieu of non-availability of hostel accommodation.
