🎯 PROJECT DETAILS

  • Title of the project: “Machine learning based design of low cost Knee-Ankle-Foot-Orthosis for Divyangs and development through additive- manufacturing of recycled plastic”
  • Description of the project: Designing person-specific Knee-Ankle-Foot-Orthosis for Divyangs using machine learning techniques and prototyping using additive manufacturing routine. To this end, recycled plastics are used. 
  • Sponsored Agency: Department of Science and Technology (DST) 
  • Project Sanction Number: SP/YO/2021/1652 No. of Posts 01 Duration 03 years or completion of project, whichever is earlier (extension based on performance review every 12 months) 
  • Principal Investigator: Dr. Vinyas Mahesh, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Silchar, Silchar-788010, India.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Applicants must have an M.E/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Specialization in Machine Design, Materials and Manufacturing), Biomedical Engineering, or related fields from a recognized University or equivalent with a good academic record. A minimum of 60% marks in Masters or equivalent degree is required. Candidates must be GATE/NET qualified.

Desirable experience includes performing simulations in COMSOL, Additive Manufacturing, and Material Characterisation.

🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE

The salary for the Junior Research Fellow position is Rs. 37,000/- per month. Candidates will be eligible for H.R.A as per the Project/Institute norms.
