🎯 Project Details
- Project Title: “Crustal Deformation Analysis in the Tectonically Active Regions of the North Eastern Region (NER) Using SAR and GNSS Data“
- Sponsoring Agency: RESPOND program, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)
- Duration: The position is initially for one year, with the option to extend for additional years, subject to satisfactory performance and the project’s continuation. The overall project duration is three years. The selected candidate may have an opportunity to pursue a PhD at IISER Mohali, subject to the institute’s PhD admission rules, eligibility criteria, and satisfactory research performance. Selection for the JRF position does not guarantee admission to the PhD program. The notice period for termination is one month.
🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
Candidates must have at least a first-class postgraduate degree (M.Sc/M.Tech) with a strong academic record in Physics, Earth Sciences, Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, Data Science, or a closely related discipline. Candidates with a B.E./B.Tech. degree in relevant fields may also be considered. Applicants should have qualified and valid CSIR/UGC-NET, GATE, or an equivalent national-level examination.
Desired experience includes good computational skills in Python, MATLAB, or other programming languages, and knowledge in SAR/InSAR/GNSS, remote sensing, geospatial analysis, or geophysical modeling. Candidates should be willing to undertake fieldwork in the Himalayan terrains.
🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE ₹
Rs 37,000/- per month + HRA as per institute norms.
