On 15 August 2007, it was recognized as the Institute of National Importance through an Act of Parliament. The Institute is fully funded by the Ministry of Education (Shiksha Mantralaya), Government of India.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
Essential Qualifications of candidate Post graduate in social science discipline (55% minimum) with NET /M.Phil. / Ph.D
Other Qualifications
☛ Basic understanding of academic research
☛ Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
☛ Basic understanding of data analysis
☛ Should have strong motivation and commitment towards research
☛ Should be ready to travel for data collection
