The Biju Patnaik University of Technology ( BPUT ), Orissa, with its head-quarters in Rourkela came into being in November 2002 through an act of the Government. The main objective of instituting the University was to ensure a high quality of students coming out of the technical colleges through a common curriculum and uniform evaluation. Today, the University has 137 colleges, both constituent and affiliated, with around 100,000 students. The disciplines include engineering and architecture, business management, computer studies and pharmacy. Several of these offer both undergraduate and post graduate studies.

Engineering& Technology
a) Candidate having ME/M.Tech degree – Rs.50,000/- per month.
b) Candidate having Ph.D. as per UGC guidelines in the relevant disciplines – Rs.55,000/- per month.
Humanities&Sciences
a) Candidate having as per UGC guidelines in M.A/M.Sc. degree – Rs.35,000/- per month.
b) Candidate having Ph.D. as per UGC guidelines in the relevant disciplines – Rs.40,000/- per month.
Management
a)Candidate having PG Degree in Management (As per AICTE / UGC norms) – Rs.35,000/- per month

One set of photocopies of the original certificates and other relevant documents with a demand draft of Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- in case of SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of Biju Patnaik University of Technology payable at Rourkela are required to be deposited at the time of interview. SC/ST candidates claiming concession on fees will be required to produce valid caste certificate at the time of interview.
