🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION
The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, (DIAT) as it is known today, came into being as the Institute of Armament Studies in 1952 in the CME campus. In 1967, the Institute was renamed as “Institute of Armament Technology, (IAT)”, which moved to its present location at Girinagar, Pune. From the relatively narrow scope of Armament Studies alone in the Fifties, the role of the Institute was considerably enlarged by the Defence R&D Council in 1964 and further in 1981. On the basis of accreditation by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Pune University recognised eight courses for the award of ME degree in 1980. In the year 2000, the Institute acquired the status of a Deemed University. IAT has been renamed as DIAT w.e.f. 1st April 2006.
The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), a Deemed to be University u/s 3 of UGC Act, 1956 is a premier educational institution significantly contributing in the sphere of Human Resource Development for the Defence Forces by way of imparting education, research and training on Defence Technologies to the officers of Armed Forces, Scientists of the DRDO, Technical officers of the Ordnance Factory Board, Directorate of Quality Assurance, Defence Public Sector Undertakings and friendly foreign countries. The Institute is also active in carrying out result oriented research as required for defence and national security.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
(i) Master’s Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in UGC seven-point scale.
(ii) (ii) At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor in Academic Pay Level 11 and above or 8 years’ service as Assistant Professor in Academic Pay Level 12 and above including as Associate Professor along with experience in Higher Educational Administration
OR
Comparable experience in research establishment and / or other institutions of higher education
OR
15 years of administrative experience of which 8 years as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post.
Preferential Qualifications. Ph.D. / M.Phil / Degree in Law obtained after graduation / MBA in HR or Systems / MCM, MCS, MCA / M.ED. / MPM or equivalent (Awarded by University recognised by UGC or AICTE).
