School, College and University is the educational wing of this initiative located at the intersection of food, education and empowerment.
KISS was granted Deemed to be University status by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, making it the first university exclusively for tribal students in the world. The University focuses on teaching and research in unique and ’emerging areas of knowledge’ related to Tribal Culture, Philosophy, Heritage, Linguistics and Literature, Science and Technology, Tribal Resource Management, Tribal Legal Studies and Tribal Rights not being perused by other institutions. It has opened seven new innovative departments to give impetus to teaching and research on tribal studies.
