Govt. of india decided to establish Kendriya Vidyalayas (Central Schools).These Vidyalayas are run by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan(Central School organisation)sponsored by the ministry of human resource and development with the sole object of providing education facilities to the children of defence personnels , central Govt.employees and employees of autonomous bodies who are liable to be transferred from one state to another . some Kendriya Vidyalayas have also been established in the institution on higher learning and public undertakings to facilitate the education of children of their employees.Kendriya Vidyalaya AMC was stablished as a primary school in April ,1944 by Colonel D.N. Chkravarty and was recognised as Junior High School in 1951.This was later adopted by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan as a Kendriya Vidyalaya in 1963. Since then the Vidyalaya is run by Kendriya vidyalaya Sangathan,New Delhi ,Under the Ministry of human Resource .
