Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation stone for this institute on October 10, 1959, the first in the chain of 30 NITs (formerly known as RECs) in the country.The Institute is well known for its dedicated faculty, staff and the state-of-the art infrastructure conducive to a healthy academic environment.The Institute is constantly striving to achieve higher levels of technical excellence. Ph.D Degree in relevant field and shall have more than 7.5 CGPA in UG and PG degrees.
Degrees, preferably, from the Institute of repute [Refer MoE (MHRD) clarification dt. 16.04.2019].

B.Tech./B.E., M.Tech/M.E. or equivalent in relevant discipline.
B. Humanities and Social Sciences
B.A./B.Sc./ B.Com.,/B. Ed. with M.A. (English Literature/ELT/Linguistics)/ M.A. (Sanskrit)/M. Ed.
C. School of Management
MBA or equivalent 2 years full time PG degree in Management or M.Com or M.A in Economics.
D. Mathematics
M.Sc. in Mathematics / Applied Mathematics / Statistics / Mathematics & Scientific Computing.
E. Physics
M.Sc. / M.Sc. (Tech) in Physics / Engineering Physics
