Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, was founded with the noble vision to raise professionals and leaders of high academic calibre and unblemished character, nurtured with a strong motivation and commitment to serve humanity. The institution is the fulfillment of the vision of its founders Late Dr. D. G. S. Dhinakaran and the present Chancellor Dr. Paul Dhinakaran. Established in 1986 as an Engineering College, it was granted an autonomous status in 1999 and declared Deemed-to-be University by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in recognition of its academic excellence by the Ministry of Human Resources Development under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 vide notification no 9-3-2000-U3 dated 23.6.2004 of the Government of India. Accredited by NAAC, the institution offers a wide array of Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral Degree programmes in various branches of Engineering, Biotechnology, Food processing and Agricultural Sciences. From a humble beginning of 180 students, the institution has rapidly grown to 8491 students and 452 faculty representing 18 academic departments.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
Professor of Practice – Distinguished experts from various fields such as Engineering, Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Management, Chartered Accountancy (CA), Commerce, Media, Civil Services, Armed Forces, Legal Profession and Public Administration, at least 15 years of service / experience, preferably at a senior level.
Professor – A minimum of 15 years of experience in teaching / industry / research as evidenced by research papers in reputed journals / patents of which at least 5 years should be in teaching at the level of Professor. (Retired Professors can also apply).
Associate Professor – A minimum of 12 years of experience in teaching / industry /research as evidenced by research papers in reputed journals / patents.
Assistant Professor – A minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching /industry / research as evidenced by research papers in reputed journals/patents.
Director (School of Liberal Arts)-05SLA2024
Ph.D. Qualification in any one of Liberal Arts Streams such as Natural Sciences / Social Sciences I Arts / Humanities from a reputed University in India / Abroad. Minimum 15 years of Academic I Administrative Experience in the position of Dean / Principal of an Academic Institution offering Liberal Arts. Candidates should have expertise in Academic Institution Building.
HOD (Physical Education) — 05PED2024
Ph.D. in Physical Education or Sports Science with minimum ten years of experience as a Director of Physical Education in a University or College. Should have represented the University or College at the inter-university/inter-collegiate competitions or the state and/or national championships. Having evidences of conducting competitions/coaching camps/tournaments, evidence of having produced sportsmen/women. Post Ph.D. publications and guiding Ph.D. students is highly desirable. Candidates who have cleared NET/ SLET / SET can also apply.
