Project Details

The project titled “Quantitative retrieval and spatio-temporal analysis of soil quality parameters using Geospatial datasets and machine learning techniques in Western Plains and Ghat regions of Karnataka” is a 12-month initiative aimed at advancing the understanding of soil quality through innovative technologies.

Designation / Job Position

  • Project Assistant

Qualification & Experience / Requirement

Candidates must possess an M.Tech in Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing and GIS, Water Resources Engineering, Hydrology, or Agricultural Engineering, or an M.Sc in Geoinformatics or Remote Sensing. A minimum of 6.5/10 CGPA or 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized technical institute or university is required. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of Hyperspectral and Microwave Remote Sensing, AI-ML applications, technical writing skills, and coding experience.

Salary / Remuneration / Pay Scale

The position offers a consolidated salary of Rs. 25,000 per month.

 (3) Scanned copies of educational certificates and mark sheets, class XII onwards

 (4) Valid ID proof. The soft copies of all the above documents in a single PDF format must be emailed to the Principal Investigator, Dr Shwetha H R (hrshwetha@nitk.edu.in) on or before 30th April 2026. In the subject of the mail, please mention “Application for Project Assistant-VGST”. 

 The shortlisted candidates will be informed via E-mail only. Selection will be based on qualification, experience, and interview/test. NITK Surathkal reserves the right to reject any or all the application/s without assigning any reasons thereof.
