Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage equipment at the TBI facility and coordinate with service providers for maintenance.
- Oversee daily operations of laboratory equipment, including inventory management and safety protocols.
- Facilitate training for incubates/students on proper equipment usage.
- Assess technical needs of startups and provide appropriate solutions.
- Coordinate with IISER Mohali departments for laboratory/equipment requirements.
- Draft and implement laboratory safety rules and maintain compliance.
- Maintain laboratory reports and equipment usage records.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Qualifications: Graduation/Post-graduation in Science/Engineering, preferably with a post-graduation/diploma in Management. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Technical Assistant/Manager/Executive/Officer in research laboratories, quality control, or R&D in government or private institutions/industry.
Desirable Skills: Experience with analytical equipment such as HPLC, UV Spectrophotometer, GC-MS, Centrifuge, etc.
The prescribed qualifications and experience are the bare minimum, and possession of the same does not guarantee an interview call. Candidates should provide detailed information on all qualifications and experience.
Salary and Tenure
The compensation for the Laboratory Manager position is between Rs 40,000 and Rs 80,000 per month, based on experience and subject matter knowledge. The initial tenure is for 2 years, extendable based on performance and organizational needs.

The position is based at the i-RISE facility within IISER Mohali, providing a vibrant and innovative environment for technology incubation.
