  • Principal Investigator- Dr. Danveer Singh, Department of Physics, IIT Ropar
  • Expected Start – September 2026 

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Essential qualifications include a BS-MS/M.Sc./M.Tech. in Physics, Applied Physics, Photonics, Optics, or a closely related discipline, with a consistently good academic record as per IIT Ropar norms. Candidates must have a valid CSIR-UGC NET/GATE or an equivalent national-level qualification. A sound understanding of electromagnetic theory and optics, with a keen interest in metamaterials and metasurfaces, is required.

Desirable qualifications include hands-on experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as CST Studio Suite, COMSOL Multiphysics, Ansys Lumerical/FDTD, or MEEP. Familiarity with nanofabrication and/or optical and infrared characterization techniques, as well as programming skills in MATLAB or Python for modelling and data analysis, will be an added advantage. Prior research experience or publications in photonics/optics is also desirable.

🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE ₹

The fellowship is ₹37,000/- per month plus HRA (10%) as applicable, strictly as per ANRF norms.
