IIIT Una is one of the 20 IIITs being setup, funded and managed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. The partners setting up IIIT Una are the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, HP Power Corporation Limited and HP Transmission Corporation Limited. Admissions to the undergraduate programmes in the Institute are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). At present, IIIT Una operates from its temporary premises of Transit Campus-II (DevBhumy Group of Institutes, Vill. Chandpur, Teh. Haroli, Una, H.P.) and Transit Campus-I(NIT Campus, Hamirpur). The permanent campus is coming up in the district of Una In Himachal Pradesh.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates to work as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on the Research Project Sponsored by H.P Council for Science, Technology and Environment (HIMCOSTE). The position is purely on temporary basis with an initial appointment for one year, which is extendable up to one more year, solely based on performance.
The JRF selected for this project may be admitted to the PhD program of the Institute subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria. However, it may be noted that the fellowship under this project is available maximum upto 02 years (or till project completion) and the candidate admitted in PhD program may not be provided with any financial support for the rest of the PhD duration.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
The details of the required qualifications & experience along with other relevant information are available on the Institute Website
Candidates with a Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology with a good academic record or a Master’s degree by Research in Engineering/ Technology in relevant discipline, with a valid/qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score in addition to good and consistent academic record. However, GATE qualification may be exempted for the deserving candidates as per the Institute norms.
OR
B.Tech./B.E. degree of any recognized University/Institute in India with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 on a 10.0-point scale or equivalent with valid GATE score in addition to exceptional academic record and within top three ranks of the University/Institute. GATE may be exempted for a candidate with bachelor’s degree from Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI)/ Government Funded Technical Institute (GFTI) with minimum CGPA of 8.0 and exceptional academic record.

- Fellowship Amount : Rs. 20,000/- per month
