Position: Assistant Engineer (Civil)

The position of Assistant Engineer (Civil) is a crucial role within the institute, responsible for overseeing civil construction, maintenance, and infrastructure management. This role is classified under Group B, Non-Faculty, and is offered on a fixed-term contract for three years, with the possibility of extension based on performance and institutional needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of all civil infrastructure, including academic blocks, hostel buildings, and administrative buildings.
• Identify and supervise the rectification of civil and plumbing deficiencies.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of water treatment and sewage treatment plants.
• Supervise civil maintenance works and ensure timely completion within sanctioned estimates.
• Monitor Phase II campus construction activities, ensuring quality and safety compliance.
• Prepare and process estimates, Bill of Quantities, and tender documents as per CPWD norms.
• Coordinate with project management consultants and statutory authorities for compliance and approvals.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a degree in Civil Engineering with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade. A minimum of five years of post-qualification experience in civil construction and infrastructure management is required. Experience in Centrally Funded Technical Institutions or similar government educational institutions is preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office applications, and knowledge of CPWD norms is essential.

Salary and Benefits

The position offers consolidated emoluments equivalent to the minimum of Pay Level 8 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission, with a basic pay of Rs. 47,600 per month plus applicable Dearness Allowance. Suitable pay protection may be offered to deserving candidates from government or autonomous institutes.
