🎯Project Details

  • Title of the Project – Project 1: “Development and Demonstration of Materials and Fabrication Technologies for Tropical Batteries “
  • Project 2: “Conversion of Low-grade Coal into Graphitic Carbon for Li-ion batteries; Pouch Cell Demonstration
  •  PI –  Prof. Chandra Shekhar Sharma
  • Funding Agency – ANRF, Coal India Limited 
  • Duration – 1 year, It can be extended further based on performance 

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, or Physics. Desirable expertise includes strong knowledge in Li-S and Li-ion battery chemistry, coal-processing, and electrochemical testing. Candidates with experience in designing electrode materials, material characterization, and translational battery research will be preferred.

🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE

The fellowship ranges from Rs. 58,000 to Rs. 67,000 per month, plus 30% HRA, as per DST norms based on post-PhD experience.

Selection Process: o The PI will evaluate and shortlist the applications. o Shortlisted candidates will only be called for an online interview. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email about the interview date and time. o Tentative date for the interview is the 4th week of September 2026 o Candidates with prior relevant experience will be given preference. Joining will be immediately after selection. o The selection committee will recommend the final candidate based on eligibility and suitability for the advertised position. o The position will be kept open if no suitable candidate is found.
