प्रसिद्ध स्वतंत्रता संग्राम सेनानी एवं विंध्य प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री पंडित शंभुनाथ शुक्ल के नाम से संचालित यह विश्वविद्यालय शहडोल संभाग ही नहीं बल्कि पूरे प्रदेश का एकमात्र विश्वविद्यालय है, जिसे “राष्ट्रीय उच्चतर शिक्षा अभियान” के चायनोपरांत मध्यप्रदेश शासन द्वारा विश्वविद्यालय के रूप में उन्नयित किया गया है । महाविद्यालय रहते हुए इसे राष्ट्रीय मूल्यांकन एवं प्रत्यायन परिषद बैंगलोर (NACC) द्वारा “ए” ग्रेड प्रदान किया गया था एवं विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग (UGC) द्वारा Potential for Excellence का दर्जा दिया गया था। दिनांक 16-09-2016 को मध्यप्रदेश असाधारण राजपत्र में विश्वविद्यालय अधिनियम जारी किया जा चुका है। इसकी विधिवत स्थापना 01 जून 2017 को हुई। इस विश्वविद्यालय के प्रथम कुलपति के रूप में प्रो. मुकेश कुमार तिवारी द्वारा दिनांक 12 अगस्त 2017 को कार्यभार ग्रहण किया गया।

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
Essential Qualifications as per UGC Regulation 2018
- Masters Degree with 55% marks
- Besides fulfilling the above qualifications the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the university grant commission (Minimum Standard and procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree regulations 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET).
Relaxation as per UGC regulations 2018 on the minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers and other Academic Staff in University and colleges.
(i) Relaxation of 5% shall be allowed at the Bachelors as well as the Masters level for the candidate belonging to scheduled caste/scheduled tribe/other Backward Classes (OBC) Non Creamy Layer/ Differently abled.
(ii) Relaxation of 5% shall be provided (from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders who have obtained their Master`s Degree prior to 19th September 1991) - The Eligibility of the candidate shall be as per UGC norms accepted by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh for the selection of guest faculty.
- Applicants merit list in every subject shall be prepared category wise-
(i) Category 1 : Ph.D. and NET/SET in concerned subject.
(ii) Category 2 : Ph.D. and NET/SET in concerned subject.
(iii) Category 3 : M.Phil in concerned subject.
(iv) Category 4 : Master`s Degree in concerned subject.
Note : If the candidate in category 1 & 2 are not available, then the candidate from category 3 & 4 shall be taken into consideration.
