🏫 ABOUT THE POSITION / PROJECT
IMU Kolkata Campus invites applications for engagement of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a sponsored research project funded by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Government of India. “Design & Development of an innovative methodology for advanced assessment of lubricating oil performance based on frequency-domain spectroscopy for marine applications.” Dated: 12 August 2025.

💼 POSITION & AGE LIMIT
- Post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – 01 position
- Upper Age Limit: Not more than 35 years (relaxation for OBC/SC/ST/PwD/Women as per GoI norms)
🎓 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION
- Master’s degree in Electrical/High Voltage/Power/Instrumentation/Electronics or allied Engineering disciplines from reputed institutions with good academic record; or equivalent.
- B.E./B.Tech. in a relevant Engineering branch (Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronics/Allied).
💡 DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Hands-on coding skills (preferably MATLAB or Python) and working knowledge of LabVIEW.
- Publications in indexed journals in relevant areas will be an added advantage.
🏆 EMOLUMENTS / BENEFITS ₹
- ₹37,000/- per month (as per latest DST guidelines) + admissible HRA as per rules.
- Hostel accommodation may be provided on a chargeable basis subject to availability; otherwise HRA is applicable.
⏳ DURATION
Initially for 6 months, extendable based on performance and availability of funds (co-terminus with the project). The selected JRF will be encouraged to enroll for Ph.D. at IMU subject to fulfillment of norms.
