🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION

The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), established by the Government of India through the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, is a premier institution set up on the lines of IITs. Located in Jais, Uttar Pradesh, RGIPT is promoted by leading Oil PSUs in India and is recognized as a “World Class” Institution. It offers degrees in B. Tech., M. Tech., and Ph.D., and is ranked 78th in the Engineering category by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Education, Government of India.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Minimum Qualification for all faculty positions is a PhD with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch, with a very good academic record throughout. Specific experience requirements are as follows:

  • Professor: 10 years of teaching/research/industrial experience, with at least 4 years at the level of Associate Professor.
  • Associate Professor: A minimum of 6 years of teaching/research/industrial experience, with at least 3 years at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent.
  • Assistant Professor, Grade-I: PhD with first class or equivalent, with 3 or more years of teaching/research/industrial experience.
  • Assistant Professor, Grade-II (on Contract): PhD with first class or equivalent. For fresh PhDs, the position will be on a contract basis for the first three years.

🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE

The pay scale for the positions is as follows, as per the 7th CPC:

  • Professor: Academic Pay Level 14A (Rs. 159100-220200) with an entry basic pay of Rs. 1,59,100 per month.
  • Associate Professor: Academic Pay Level 13A2 (Rs. 139600-211300) with an entry basic pay of Rs. 1,39,600 per month.
  • Assistant Professor (Grade-I): Academic Pay Level 12 (Rs. 101500-167400) with an entry basic pay of Rs. 1,01,500 per month.
  • Assistant Professor (Grade-II): Academic Pay Level 11 (Rs. 57700-98200) with an entry basic pay of Rs. 89,900 per month.
  • Assistant Professor (Grade-II) on Contract: Academic Pay Level 10 (Rs. 57700-98200) with an entry basic pay of Rs. 70,900 per month.

Additional allowances such as Dearness Allowance, Transport Allowance, and other benefits like LTC, medical reimbursement, and education allowance for children are provided as per the Central Government rules.

💺 JOB LOCATION

The positions are available at the RGIPT campuses located in Jais, Uttar Pradesh, and Bengaluru, Karnataka.
