🎯 PROJECT DETAILS

• Project title: “Development of an Indigenous Engineered Escherichia coli Chassis for High-Yield Production of Electrically Conductive Protein Nanowires for Bioelectronics and Energy Applications”
• Funded by:   ANRF
• Duration: Initially for one year, extendable on a yearly basis up to the completion of the project (maximum three years) based on satisfactory performance and the availability of funds as per ANRF norms.
• PI: Dr. Jayesh M. Sonawane

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

The applicant must possess a Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or any other relevant branch of Biological Sciences, or an M.Tech. degree in Biotechnology or a related discipline, with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or 60% marks (where CGPA is not awarded). 

The candidate must have qualified CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, DBT-BET, ICMR-JRF, or any other National Eligibility Test recognized by ANRF. Candidates with hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology, microbial genetics, recombinant DNA technology, Escherichia coli cultivation, protein expression and purification, microbiology, electrochemistry, biosensors, or bioelectronics are encouraged to apply. 

Research experience in the relevant area, supported by publications in peer-reviewed international journals, will be considered an added advantage. 

🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE ₹

Fellowship: The selected candidate will receive a fellowship as per the prevailing ANRF norms, i.e., ₹37,000/- per month + HRA for the first and second year. Based on satisfactory performance, the candidate may be upgraded to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the third year with a fellowship of ₹42,000/- per month + HRA, as per ANRF norms.
