Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Recruitment at NIT Meghalaya

The National Institute of Technology Meghalaya is seeking a qualified Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to join a dynamic research team working on a project sponsored by the Directorate of Futuristic Technology Management (DFTM), Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO). This project focuses on the design and development of SiC MEMS-based piezoresistive sensors, a field that promises significant advancements in high-temperature applications.

Qualification & Experience / Requirement

Candidates must possess an M.Tech. / M.E. in Microelectronics, VLSI, Electronics, or related disciplines. Alternatively, candidates with an M.Sc. in related fields or GATE-qualified candidates with a B.Tech. / B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering are eligible to apply. The age limit is set at 30 years, with age relaxation applicable as per institute norms.

The role involves the design, simulation, and fabrication process flow for the development of SiC-MEMS-based pressure sensors for high-temperature applications.

Salary / Remuneration / Pay Scale

The selected candidate will receive a monthly emolument of Rs. 37,000/- plus HRA or accommodation as per institute norms.

 2. A soft PDF copy of the duly filled-up application form, age proof certificate, 10th, 12th, and highest qualification-degree certificates, and mark sheets must be sent (in a merged format single PDF) via email to pradeeprathore@nitm.ac.in with cc to llksingh@nitmanipur.ac.in. The subject of the email should be “Application for JRF Position for DRDO Project”. 

 3. The shortlisted candidate will have to attend an interview (ONLINE/OFFLINE).

 4. The shortlisted candidate(s) will be informed for the interview/examination through email. 

 5. Mere possession of the minimum qualification does not  guarantee an invitation to the interview. Candidates will be shortlisted based on merit and need of the project. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to appear in the interview, and no other communication will be entertained. The authority reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications without assigning any reason thereof. 

 6. No TA/DA shall be paid to candidates for attending the interview and/or joining the position.

Important Dates

The last date for receiving applications is 30/04/2026.

Notification of shortlisted candidates will be on 04/05/2026, with the tentative date for the interview/examination set for 06/05/2026.
