Junior Project Fellow Position at NIT Srinagar

Qualification & Experience / Requirement

M.Sc. in Chemistry or relevant subject with minimum 60% marks [CGPA ≥ 6.5/10] for General/OBC candidates. For SC/ST/PWD candidates minimum 55% marks [CGPA ≥ 6.0/10]  

Candidates must possess a minimum of 55% in their qualifying degree. The position is open to candidates under the age of 28, with age relaxation applicable as per government norms. Selected candidates are encouraged to register for a Ph.D. program, subject to fulfilling the institute’s statutory norms.

Applicants should have a strong motivation to work on the development of lignocellulosic/biopolymeric Himalayan waste into durable and degradable bioplastics. Frequent travel for project-related work is required, and quarterly assessments will determine the continuation of the appointment.

Salary / Remuneration / Pay Scale

The selected candidates will receive a stipend of Rs. 24,000 per month for the first two years and Rs. 28,000 per month in the third year, along with 20% HRA for all three years. Please note that hostel accommodation is not provided.
